Activity: day trip to Vitoria and the Rioja wine area from Bilbao

Departure time: 08:40AM at Carlton Hotel (2 Federico Moyúa Sq). Please, be there 10 minutes before with your voucher in order to check-in

Arrival time and point: at 06:00PM approximately back in Bilbao city centre

Duration: 9 hours approximately

Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city of Vitoria, where you will visit its historic center. Then reach La Rioja Alavesa. Move back to medieval times and walk through its centuries-old streets to finally finish the visit with a wine tasting in one of its most traditional wineries.

Departure from Bilbao at 8:40 am, we will head directly to Vitoria via highway. During the route the mountainous landscapes can be seen until reaching the plateau with its forests of oak and beech.

In Vitoria we will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city including all the most recent areas of the inner city. Then we stop at the old town for a walking tour.

Once we have seen the beautiful city of Vitoria, we continue the route through different towns of Araba until we finally pass by Labastida and we arrive in Laguardia, a famous historical and monumental charming village of Rioja Alavesa with magnificent wineries. We will enjoy its medieval streets, its lordly houses and its two fortified churches.

Free time for lunch in one of its typical restaurants; our guide will tell you about the different options that you can choose. Naturally, we will not return to our accomodation until we enjoy a guided visit to a traditional winery including tasting of wines.

Return back to Bilbao to arrive by mid-afternoon.
