Get to know the Basque Country from the inland to the coast
Activity: day trip from Vitoria to Vizcaya departing from Bilbao
Inclusions: transportation during the tour, bilingual official guide and typical lunch
Frequency: every Friday during the period between 1st January 2019 and 31st March 2020 (excepting the following blackout dates: 1st January, 24th December, 25th December and 31st December)
Departure time: 07:40AM at Carlton Hotel (2 Federico Moyúa Sq). Please, be there 10 minutes before with your voucher in order to check-in
Arrival time and point: at 06:00PM approximately back in Bilbao city centre
Duration: 10 hours approximately
Conditions: It is necessary to book at least 48 hours in advance; subject to confirmation. Cancellation fee: 100% for less than 24 hours notice or no-shows. Take a panoramic tour of Vitoria, the capital of the Basque Country. Next, visit the Salinas de Añana to learn about its history and architecture. You will pass through Orduña, Valle de Ayala and Balmaseda, where you will have time to eat. Finally, we will arrive to the coast through Santurtzi and Portugalete to finish visiting the Hanging Bridge of Bizkaia.
Departure from Bilbao towards Vitoria. Once we arrive to the capital city of the Basque country, we will enjoy a guided walking tour through the center to discover the most emblematic points of the city: the new cathedral, the Basque parliament, the Virgen Blanca square, the town hall, the arches, the square Machete, the Church of San Miguel, etc...
Later, we follow the route to Salinas de Añana, one of the most surprising corners of the Basque Country. We will enjoy an interesting guided tour to learn the history, architecture, archeology and biodiversity of the salt that is produced here. We will continue following the route to Orduña, that used to be an ancient customs, to start a guided visit to this historical village.
Once we have finished the tour aroung Orduña, we will enjoy a lunch (that is included) at a typical restaurant located in the medieval village of Balmaseda.
After lunch, we follow the route through the Valley of Ayala and the mining area of Bizkaia to reach the coast: Santurtzi and Portugalete. From here we cross the Hanging Bridge of Bizkaia (declared World Heritage by UNESCO) to reach Getxo and then finish back in Bilbao.
